A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

For two very different reasons, Shawn and Jill chose to attend St. Joseph's College. After their first meeting, Jill decided Shawn was definitely someone to stay away from, and Shawn forgot all about meeting Jill. So much for love at first sight.

Then Shawn and Jill became friends. They worked together on a project for the annual Little 500 Go Cart Race. During the race, Shawn crashed into Jill's corner (multiple times). It was because of their involvement with the race, they began to talk more and became more than friends.

They dated for part of a summer, but were unsure of each other's feelings and intentions. They decided to stop seeing each other and just "be friends."

This phase in their relationship lasted less than a year. Being friends was great, but it wasn't enough. They each ended relationships with other people (who ended up marrying each other ­ but that's a whole other story!) around the same time, and Jill and Shawn have been together ever since.

After 3 years of dating, Shawn proposed to Jill in January of 2002. She ecstatically accepted and they saw no reason for a long engagement. They were married on August 10th, 2002, and...they live happily ever after.
